dSb presented with the NYC Legislative Proclamation
in September 2005
LEGISLATIVE PROCLAMATION
On Sunday, September 18th, 2005 while performing at the Ompahfest, Plattduetsche Park, 1132 Hempstead Turnpike, Franklin Square, NY dSb was presented with quite a surprise. While celebrating 15 Years of touring dSb was presented with a Legislative Proclamation from the City of New York. The proclamation reads as follows:
WHEREAS: This Legislative Proclamation proudly honors die Schlauberger for their contribution to the music industry for the past fifteen years; and
WHEREAS: Performing as the group die Schlauberger are Kevin Barbitsch, Robert Rom, Klaus Staab, Thomas Staab, Patrick Farrell, and Mark Boschen all from the Glendale, Ridgewood, Maspeth communities; and
WHEREAS: Through the years, traveling from state to state and festival to festival, this outstanding group of men entertain audiences of all ages. Their energy and “get involved” attitude lets everyone join in the fun of the festivities; and
WHEREAS: They are known as the alternative to Oompah. Their impressive body of work includes an album which was nominated for the 2001 JP Folks Music Awards; and
WHEREAS: The group has had the honor of performing the American National Anthem at Shea Stadium as well as Giants Stadium. Their presence in the music community has resulted in a 2004 National Network Television Commercial for Hewlett Packard’s IPOD; AND NOW THEREFORE BE IT
RESOLVED: The City Council of the City of New York, on behalf of Council Member Dennis P. Gallagher, does herby issue this Legislative Proclamation to proudly honor die Schlauberger; AND BE IT FURTHER
RESOLVED: That a copy of this Legislative Proclamation, suitably engrossed, be transmitted to die Schlauberger on this the 18th day of September, 2005.
